311 Brought the Heat to the Santa Barbara Bowl

The So Glad You Made It Tour rolled through Santa Barbara, California on a steamy mid-August night to deliver four incredible sets to a packed house at the Santa Barbara Bowl.

311’s energy-driven set closed out a wildly entertaining night of music prefaced by Rome, Atmosphere, and Dirty Heads. Their set was packed with familiar moments, family involvement, and a whole lot of enthusiasm.

Lead singer and guitarist Nick Hexum donned his infamous flying v guitar to open the show with the classic hit and fan favorite from 1997’s Transistor, “Beautiful Disaster”. SA Martinez spent the night “rocking the vocals” as Hexum declared affectionately while Pnut amazed the crowd with his new gold bass during “Love Song”. Guitarist Tim Mahoney entranced us with his powerful riffs and his son was seen crowd surfing during “Come Original”. Drummer Chad Sexton’s niece (and up and coming artist herself) Medea Lily followed suit toward the end of the set with her own crowd surfing moment. 311’s family, friends, and crew danced around the stage adorned with glow sticks during a portion of Sexton’s drum solo. The night was packed with exciting moments while still keeping the crowd captivated during more mellow songs like “Beyond the Grey Sky”.

The So Glad You Made It Tour rolls on for the rest of August and ends in West Palm Beach, Florida on 8/30. Catch 311 headlining a handful of dates this fall as well. See dates here.
