Yell Stuff & Sweat on the Gear: Ontologics Takes Over Luthier’s Co-Op on a Summer Friday.
On Friday June 12th, Ontologics took the stage at Luthier’s Co-Op in downtown Easthampton, MA. A music shop, bar, restaurant, and live music venue all in one, Luthier’s was the perfect eccentric venue to showcase the sounds of Ontologics.
Ontologics, comprised of Ian Campopiano and Andrews Morris, are a genre-bending duo with powerful musicianship. Their experimental progressive rock style paved the way for an exciting night of music. Campopiano’s inventive guitar riffs and deep lyrics pair perfectly with the solid foundation of Morris’ drum licks. Campopiano moved effortlessly between the mic, his PRS guitar, and a second set of drums throughout the night.
Campopiano kept things interesting by bantering with the crowd in between songs, something I personally enjoyed, to keep things fresh and not robotic. The energy never waned and the raw emotion was a refreshing means to showcase the depth and enthusiasm necessary to excite a crowd on a Friday night in the summer.
Check out Ontologics on Spotify here. Their most recent release, It’s Safe To Say The Veil Is Thinning, features one of many collaborations with P-Nut of 311 on the bass.
